Neat. If you step thru it slowly, it seems like you can almost see him use one of the first bounces to huck himself forward into riding position. Now I want to go try that somewhere.
I'm pretty sure this is a canvas decked hybrid mat...I'll have to ask George the next timne he calls. If it is, that would explain how effortlessly he moves forward on it.
I found similar results in a go-out on the canvas hybrid today. The surf was clean but really shallow and had some steps in it. I could use the first set of steps in the face to accelerate and hop forward into position. Positioning and Re-positioning on the canvas is a joy, much more subtle movements are highly effective.
