On the left, weighing in at...my new mat. On the right, Old Faithful. Now 3 years old. The replacement came via a friend who admitted he had too many surfcraft and that the mat wasn't getting ridden. It's a different configuration to my old mat - slightly narrower and a single midrib - but I haven't noticed a significant difference in handling characteristics. Have only had a few surfs of 1-3ft.

nice come up ! i need to get a neumatic..... a hero green contrail 8 )
I should have mentioned that my old mat is also a Neumatic.
Has Dale caught up with his backlog?
Heard tell some guys are not getting their mats .....more than year waits etc....not sure if it was cause of his health....finacial or otherwise

I don't know the state of play there. My new mat belonged to a friend who'd only ridden it twice. As I suspect is true of most people who have options, he found the mat too 'different' and so kept defaulting to boards he was used to. I'm glad that when I started matting I didn't own an alternative and so persevered through the learning curve.
A new mat is a cool thing! I've got my eye on the 4GF hybrid.
Well, I ordered a Neumatic 2 1/2 years ago, and never got it. I'm so glad Paul went into production soon after I ordered a mat from Dale. I'm turning 60 this year and I wouldn't want to be waiting for my high performance mat to show up in the mail someday. I'm stoked that I've been riding my fantastic 4th Gear Flyer for two years now!

I beleive dale is taking orders and making mats...
did you cancel your order Tom or are you STILL waiting?
thats a long time for sure but Dales Mats are sooo tech , i mean it would be totally worth the wait...
his mats are wider and totally custom..and uses lighter materials...
his mats keep evolving where as 4thGear shape has stayed the same since the 80's?
correct me if im wrong...

I also ordered two Neumatic mats more than 2 years ago from Dale. I payed about 700 us dollars and never heard since. The deal was that we would receive the mats in a month..It's more than 2 years ago now. A few months ago i got a email from Dale that our mats are in production. But, never heard again. I don't have much trust in a good ending by reading the other comments...
I'm very glad by the services and good mats that Paul makes!

I have not canceled my order, a year ago I was told I'm next in the queue, and I am still patiently waiting for my Neumatic.
I don't know if it's worth the wait, but I do know that the 2 years I've been riding my 4GF have been the most enjoyable and deeply satisfying time in the water since I started surfing in 1963. I can't imagine how mat surfing could be any better than my experience of it. And I'm not still waiting to get started.

Took a bit of time (just over a year) but Dale was true to his word and delivered the mat.
He has endured some pretty harrowing personal issues - so stick with him. He's one of the good guys.
