How many times does George have to speak to the surf media before they take notice?Basically he's the most senior and informed surf source we have!!Unreal. No wonder he chooses to avoid the scene.
2010 JANUARY 22 Jim I bumped into George a few weeks ago in Watego’s and he was pissed off then with the stand-ups. He actually went and spoke to a couple of guys as they struggled out of the water with their ‘crafts’ and suggested they get insurance.
I just had a good long look at this photo of Greeno. At first it doesn't jump out at all, so minimalist you don't even notice, but he's displacing almost ZERO water. There's about as much spray as a pelican's wake coming off the inside rail, and only just slightly more from the outside corner, and I believe that's because he has his weight on his left leg. Just when you think you're getting the hang of this mat surfing deal... back to the drawing board. I've got so much to learn...
It's so deceptive, this matting lark.Look at Mark Thomson,he's carving it up like a thruster! Then George is smoothly gliding along, seemingly nothing going on.Meanwhile I thrash and flail like an orca-mauled seal!
You're right about the minimal wake = minimal drag. Better yet, do I notice a tiny P.O.V. cam mounted to George's back? Will GG delight us with a new mat-based flick?
