Another Question...

Where do you like to slip on your fins...sitting on the beach, or after you've waded into the knee lappers?

When I was a kneeboarder I would put my Churchill fins on in the water, but today with the Duckfeet I put them on while sitting on the sand.

On the sand, as cold water and booties force me to adjust my fins properly.

on the beach so I won't lose one

I've always put my fins on before heading into the water. Doing the duck-walk into the water looks silly, but when there's rocks on the shore, it saves my feet.

Sand. I use velcro tethers so not only getting fin and ankle strap angle/placement right but also warping and sticking those tethers in place is much easier.

I kinda like doing the duck walk. Aside from being a nice leg warm-up, it is such a distinctive "look". Sort of a style statement in a world of clones gone mad.

I see pros(lifeguards) such as Mark Cunningham putting on fins in water.Dafins' one drawback is that they collect sand easily.
I walk in backwards to exacerbate this effect. It slows me so I don't get ALL the waves.
UDTS can be put on in supine position. The leverage of their weight'll flip wearer upright.

I usually wade about waist deep, if it's mellow, then put them on. If there's a rocky threshold to cross, then I put them on there. Doffing procedure is pretty much the same in reverse.

I generally slip on my fins over my feet. I have tried other appendages but they just make me look silly. Guerdon.

on a level sand beach, or in my case a steep pebble bank which as you walk backwards adjusting 5mm of neoprene all over, tends to unbalance you, wherupon you dad dance trying to get that one pebble out of one fin and then get hit by the shorebreak and half fall half collapse in trying to not land on your mat.Really must practice the graceful entrance more!
