Black Ball Season Is Coming!

So what's your perspective...

Are there black ball areas at your home surf beach?

If so, do you utilize them for enhanced mat surfing...sans boards and SUP's?

Will the lifeguards let you mat surf during black ball periods in your area?

Would you mind getting thrown out of the water if your local guard was Pam Anderson?

Other thoughts/feelings?

Not much a fan of Pam. But I did get booted by the guard at Malibu in the early 70's. I was on a canvas mat, small 2-3 foot crumblers but pretty darn crowded. Got sick of being cut of by 3-5 loggers on every wave and stuffed into the soup so I started to run a few down. Amazing what happens when the leading edge of a mat (or a shoulder) hits an unsuspecting stand-up surfer just below the knees. Some waves I would take out 2 or 3 before I lost momentum and got stuck behind the curl. The lifeguard did actually apologize but said he was afraid someone would attack me and injure me for the fun I was having and he did sympathize. And it was fun! My bad!!!

Only Pamela Anderson could enforce black balls. Slow motion women running on the beach kinda like pro surfing a lot of wiggles and bounce but not much direction. Guerdon.

We have designated areas, supposedly red and yellow flags for bathers and body/bellyboarders,and chequered for the resin monkeys. Most ignore it though, especially now you can get wetties in supermarkets and emmets have boards.
Thankfully we UK matters are largely diurnal...
