Just reading what he wrote here, and the UKMS profile, his warmth, intelligence, humor and bravery came through strongly. He seemed like someone you wish you knew.
Also got the sense that he lived as fully as anyone possibly could... an inspiration.

Festus Porkmeyer was one of a kind. Just a few months ago he took me to ride mats at overhead low tide Big Rock. And he charged 'em! --jay
