From Julia and Eric ...

Hi Paul

Well mate we have just had 4 weeks of unreal winter waves. With offshore, sunny conditions.

As I said to Da (scumm) Boys, It's great to be "Alive, Retired & Livin in Oztralia..

Of course just as the swells drop my daughter Julie get's a day off from making Pizza's & wants to go for a slide.

No prob's, so we found some tiny waves on our own and had a few laugh's.
Gotta be a great when you can spend time with ya kid's slidin on our 4GF mats.

Regards Eric

Hi Paul,

Received the 'Fatty' a couple of days ago, thanks very much.

I have surfed it twice, both times with your young test Pilot, George.  Mate, whilst the conditions since I took delivery haven't been ideal, this mat bloody flies! I'm stoked.

Cheers

Peter

Mitch's Reloaded ...

Mitch's North, in Solana Beach, is now carrying 4GFs on a semi-regular basis. A new batch went out today, and should arrive on Monday. Worth checking out if you live in the SD area!

Mendicino Matting Anyone ???...

Hello Paul!

The wife and I have made a last minute change in venue for our camping trip. With 100 degree weather forecast for Whiskeytown Lake (Redding) I was able to convince her to choose coastal camping instead. I just checked the forecast and there is a south swell on the rise! Suddenly I am curious about mat surfing near Caspar!

Can you pass along my email to anyone you may know from the area. I'll be up there Friday evening - Tuesday morning but I shouldn't try to surf more than once. I can handle any conditions from whomping to dribblers, but my mat prefference is typical: 4 foot hollow pointbreak with offshore winds :^D

Thanks Paul, I'm glad to see 4GF is still going strong and continues to expand around the globe!

Paul,

Yesterday I used my new surf mat to traverse the pools in that granite canyon in central Arizona. I sink much deeper in the water than on my previous craft but the new mat is 40 ounces lighter and much more compact so it's worth the trade off to me. My back pack has a dry bag inside so nothing gets wet.

Thanks again. Great product.

From Ariel ...

Hey Paul,

I'm back from my adventures, what a great time! The mat was the ideal item to travel with. Not only was it's compact size the envy of all other surf craft riders as they lugged their board bags through the busy streets and endured multi hour drives with their boards barely strapped to the hoods of taxi's. It also worked like magic to dissolve localism.

I am an overly cautious visitor to new breaks. I would show up at these remote places, with only a few guys out, but still I would give tons of space and only take scraps. Every time, the locals would watch with curiosity and then invite me over to talk about the mat. What was it? Could they try? did I want to use their board while they rode my mat?- yes please. It was really amazing.

I am certainly not a pro at it, but that was part of the excitement. There were a few superb beatings as I desperately held on with all my might- cursing the no leash. Mostly fun times.

Thanks again!

Ariel

Hi Paul,

Life has been a little crazy lately, apologies for being out of touch so long.

Still riding the first Lotus you built me, haven't had a need for anything else. Anything new on the boil in terms of design or fabrics? You know I'm always keen to test ride whatever you are working on, and if I know you, you are definitely up to something new!

Feel free to use the shots on Instagram and the blog, just credit Daniel Pullen @danielpullen .

Stoked to see the video sequence.

Hi Paul,

I'm still riding the Omni exclusively, because it just works in all the kinds of waves I ride. I've always liked the way it bottom turns. All I have to do is look at the wave as I turn and the Omni seems to know where to go. The turns are solid and the acceleration is always a thrill.

Recently I had a fun session at a seldom-ridden inside reef on a windy afternoon at high tide; no hard boarders in sight. It was a typical mat surfing day for me. Thanks again for making this possible.
