    Well, I was the one who called the paramedics as soon as I saw them paddle out 20 minutes earlier (via the live beach cam)!

    It felt good to see them there. I was back in my comfort zone, because the day before up in Big Sur was powerful and intimidating, and not an emergency responder within many hours.
