LI-LO is a well known term down here in NZ. If you talk about fins for your feet, you get a blank stare. Swimfins are flippers and surfmats are lilos. "Mate, grab your lilo and flippers and give it a go."
Until I saw the advert I didn't realise the market penetration of Lilo - the US and UK.
