Hi Paul,

Just came back from France (Lacanau-Ocean).
We had great weather! The first two days there was hardly any wave to find.
But there was this one set of waves which rolled in from the skies.....
I didn't photoshop the picture!

After a few days a small swell rolled in of 3 to 4 ft fun waves!

And the last picture...

In Holland a good swell is coming in these days.
So i'm heading to the beach!

Hi Paul,

The new mats on surfmatters look great! If they work out I will be there to place an order. The blue ones look very nice.

This picture is me, two weeks ago on my home spot in The Netherlands, called Scheveningen. Scheveningen is the "Dutch California," and the most popular spot. The concentration of surfers is pretty big in Scheveningen. On nice days there are like 50 to 80 surfers in the water!

It's too cold for mat surfing now....

Hi Paul,

Today i went out on my new mat.

We have a decent swell at the moment so it was a good try out. The mat suits me so good!!! I had really good rides.

For Dutch waves the new hybrid model is the best by far! So i'm very happy and very stoked! I'm really into mat surfing now, more then ever. I'm gonna sell one of my longboards! I think mat surfing is one of the purest forms of surfing.

The picture I send is our homespot called Scheveningen.

Hi Paul,

Today (5 October) we had the best surf of the year in the Netherlands! This weekend we had a storm. On Monday it went offshore with a light wind. The waves were the best of 2009! (For Dutch waves).

The quality of the pictures are not very good. I've mat surfed for about 5 hours and had really good rides! Tonight I will sleep like a little boy. Hope everything is fine with you.

Hi Paul,

Back home in the Netherlands after our trip to France. Have received your e-mails in France, but for some reason i couldn’t sent a reply on my phone.

France (Lacanau) was great. 16 days of beautiful weather, offshore winds and nice swells from 4 -7 foot.

I only used the Polara. The Polara works so great, so much speed and good control.

I really had a great time in the water with friendly French locals who were interested and surprised in the surfmat.

 Uhh… off course Esther also had a great time. Get some tan with a nice book on the beach (lol!)

Hi Paul,

Just a quick report from the Netherlands...

The UDT model works fine! Especially for the Dutch sloppy waves. I use it on the smaller days.

We have had a few really good mat days this summer and i mostly use the new XL model. The hybrid deck of the new XL model works so good. You can get grip on it and also replace your body very easy.

The last three weeks we haven't had any waves so i'm pretty full of energy and waiting for waves! Fall is coming so for Holland that means waves!

I'm so stoked to be a matsurfer. Its hard for a Dutchy to explane that in proper English.

Hi Paul,

Just came back from France (Anglet). We had very good waves and weather!

It's great to surfmat on ocean waves instead of the Dutch North Sea. I had really good rides!! French surfers were looking pretty weird when they saw my mat. One guy came up to me and asked about the mat. He had never seen such a vehicle before...he liked it a lot!!!

I send you some pictures. We couldn't take proper mat pictures cause the camera was to small...

Anyway: stoked!!!

Hi Paul,

Long time not spoken. Hope everything is fine with you and the family.

Finally i can send you some Dutch mat pictures of me! The pictures were from one of the best conditions in Holland from 2010, late September.

I will place my order for the Vespa model in a few weeks. It's snowing over here now, and it's freezing...minus 7 degrees!

Hope all is well.

Yesterday was the last swell of 2016 in my hometown Scheveningen in The Netherlands. Cold (37F degrees) but clean and fun. It will be flat till 2 January.

On the background they are building the bonfire for new year's eve (35 meters high! )

Hi Paul,

I hope that given the circumstances, your mother is doing fine.

I just returned from my honeymoon to Bali. The waves were great! I had very good and long rides. My cheeks are still hurting from the smile on my face!

My wife shot some mat pictures of me. They are not razor sharp, but it shows the good waves in Bali! I brought my XL and my standard model. The standard worked great!

Marc and Esther in France...

Hi Paul,

Just came back from France (Lacanau). We have had a very good week in a lovely France house.

Nice weather the hole week with 4/5 foot waves. I had great rides on different mats (XL,Vespa and the UDT).

In Holland the swell kicks in, so i'm out for another wave!
