It is a nice storey.a talented writer.But the photo is not of The Cowrie Hole.I have seen a few Surfoplane riders over the years at all Newcastle area beaches. But I am the only Mat rider in the area and thats where I surf ,most days I go out at Shark Alley and surf off the Canoe pool or Newy beach.too many people in The Hole.The photo is not me. The photo could be Boyd or Andrew from Byron Bay.

The surf photo is clearly of George Greenough, surfing in the Byron Bay area. It's just a mat riding image to go with the article.
OMG! That is hilarious as it describes how I am sure I am viewed by many of the locals at my home break too!
