Photo was tagged as Huntington Beach, 1960s. Confirmation or correction welcome. Any of your readers know what brand those mats are?

I assume you mean, "What are those mats made of?"

They were heavy canvas, with a thin layer of rubber bonded on the inside. They were very stiff when new, but got looser over time.

By today's standard they are complete slugs due to their stiffness...but the canvas surface on the decks was extremely comfortable. You could slide around on the decks when you needed to, but when you laid stationary on them, they gripped. That's why we spent a lot of time, and a fair bit of money, back 10 or 11 years ago developing the nylon canvas decks for the 4GF mats. We wanted to replicate that great feeling.
