Doesn't that look fun! Especially like top photo, the wake-less flying floating feel.
Out of curiosity, how did the fiberglass board surfers react to all those mats in the lineup? I have occasional issues with scornful attitudes, young men in particular.
TB - I usually find that if I am the only matter out (which is usually the case) I'm totally under the radar. I get the occasional comment from the older guys "I used to ride a mat back in the 60's...". During the meet we outnumber the rest of the crowd by 2 to 1 sometimes more. Everyone is usually curious.
Oh how I would like to have shared those waves with you guys. Magic. That session will stay in everyone's memory banks for ever. It will in mine and I wasn't even there Godammit!
This was done kind of spur of the moment, Paul. So, there's no telling when the next one will occur. This started out with me saying a certain spot was good for a mat. The next thing I knew, we were having a mat meet a few days later. It all happened that quickly!
Surffoils. Yep there has still not been an Aussie mat meet whereas the Pommes are about to have their 7th and this is the 2nd Yankee one in the last year. It really needs to happen albeit on the East Coast as that is where most of you are based!
Hi Ramsnake, and thanks for the phone call over the weekend, its always good to talk to another mat-er, even if youre 4110 kms away. So what do you reckon is the best way to get an Eastern AU Seaboard Mat Meet together ? Probably the Location is paramount, Manly or Bondi ??? Im often in Manly so that an easy one, but what next ?
Where do you think I should advertise to find the most guys / ladies interested in inflatables--- without attracting the ~wrong~ crowd ??
Looks like a magical time, beautiful!! I'm in Nor-Cal, but hope to make in down to one of these at some point. Thanks everyone for the pics and video!!! Aloha and Stoke to all!

Thank you, Anon!! There were people there I'd never seen or met before. Good riding with you, Evan!

One above Evan is Nick Bobroff, I reckon.
